Principal Program Budget Analyst

The incumbent serves as the primary contact between the Department of Finance and one or more departments, developing expert fiscal and program knowledge in assigned areas. They identify policy and program issues that require analysis and work with departments to prepare the Governor's Budget. The specialist advises the Director of Finance and the Governor's Office on program budget and proposed legislation decisions, with final authority to approve various financial documents. They conduct program analysis projects using analytical techniques to evaluate program effectiveness and alternatives, serving as a resource person in assigned program areas to assist other staff. The specialist also monitors program implementation.
Special RequirementsThe position may involve virtual interviews via web portals or phone, as deemed appropriate and feasible. The Department of Finance has implemented a hybrid telework model, requiring employees to work in the office a minimum of two days during the workweek. This policy will continue until further notice.
