Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at Tufts Medical Center. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the efficient operation of our diagnostic imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient conditions and ensure patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy and present completed examinations to appropriate supervisors.
  • Coordinate radiographic examinations to ensure quality and continuity of patient care.
  • Assist with the management of department workflow and ensure completion of work assignments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all hospital-related information.
  • Report safety hazards and incidents to appropriate supervisors.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Technology.
  • Certification granted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years directly related experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to transport patients from wheelchair or patient slide board to table.
  • Able to move portable x-ray machine to examination site.
  • Occasional sitting, frequent standing, walking, and lifting of 30-35 lbs.
  • Able to wear protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations.
  • Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate radiology equipment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of radiographic equipment, examinations, and procedures that require contrast agents.
  • Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.
  • Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
  • Ability to organize patient care and set priorities.
  • Ability to perform all necessary computer operations to ensure proper examination documentation and charges.
