Position Overview:
Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc. (WEST), a leading environmental consulting firm, is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Quality Assurance Specialist - Data Steward.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and enthusiastic professional with a strong interest in wildlife and environmental conservation, possessing experience in data management and a knack for problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide both technical and administrative assistance for various Quality Program initiatives and measurement tools.
- Engage in the development of process enhancements and training programs for the Quality Program.
- Offer technical support and training to team members regarding data entry and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.
- Adhere to established protocols for data entry and QA/QC within MSSQL databases.
- Maintain a robust understanding of data entry processes and support other offices in data entry and QA/QC tasks.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements for data entry and QA/QC methodologies.

- Investigate and resolve data quality challenges using initiative and critical thinking; consult with peers and supervisors for clarification on ambiguous situations.

- Review essential documents from clients (such as study plans and QA/QC procedures) to comprehend data specifications.

- Import and export data, generate various data summaries, assist in creating graphs and tables, and conduct basic analyses following established procedures.

- Support the Quality Program Manager in achieving team objectives and goals.
- Comply with health and safety protocols as required for the tasks performed.

Qualifications:


- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in biological sciences, natural resources, wildlife management, statistics, business, or a related field.

- At least three (3) years of experience in quality management systems and processes, with a focus on enhancing product quality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to work effectively and independently.
- Ability to identify quality concerns and propose solutions.
- Familiarity with various tracking and data tools to facilitate project processing and archiving.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in diverse formats.
- Interest in working with wildlife, environmental, and renewable energy data.
- High attention to detail and a strong capacity for critical thinking to address complex problems.
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.

- Ability to maintain punctuality, engage effectively with colleagues and clients, and accept constructive feedback.

- Preference may be given to candidates with experience in ArcGIS, MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MSSQL, and/or R.

- Experience with Google Workspace applications.
- Background in technical writing or editing of documents, protocols, and reports.
- Willingness to participate in fieldwork for wildlife studies.


- Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and DMV records check as part of the hiring process.
