Job Overview
The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will be an integral part of the Global Sourcing team, working closely with Commodity Managers, Logistics, New Product Development, and plant quality teams to enhance supplier performance across the organization.
Position Details:
This is a full-time role that requires in-office collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee APQP and ISIR/PPAP processes for supplied materials.
- Address and resolve issues related to defective materials with suppliers, driving continuous improvement for those with recurring problems.
- Partner with new product development teams to assess supplier capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system capabilities and ensure that design specifications and tolerances meet industry standards.
- Maintain and improve corporate quality processes, including the quality manual, supplier scorecards, ISIR/APQP databases, and corrective action logs.
- Conduct supplier evaluations through product and systems audits.
- Ensure that suppliers adhere to the company’s Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a quality or manufacturing setting.
- Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with APQP and ISIR/PPAP methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Minitab.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques (e.g., Gage R&R, capability studies).
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and straightforward manner.
