A Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Client Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring efficient and precise operations while delivering outstanding customer service within the FTZ Department. This role operates during the evening shift, with hours from 2 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential adjustments during the training phase.
Key Responsibilities:- Input customs declaration data from various documents into the FTZ system to facilitate valid FTZ admissions.
- Monitor and trace international shipments.
- Guarantee the accurate and timely submission of FTZ entries for swift cargo clearance from US Customs and relevant government agencies.
- Coordinate the timely dispatch of freight to transporters and manage delivery logistics.
- Ensure precise and prompt billing for clients and service providers.
- Identify and manage exceptions while seeking opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Comprehend all aspects of the import customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and accurately interpret this information to meet customer expectations.
- Maintain compliance with government regulations and company policies at all times.
- Experience in customs brokerage, particularly with Foreign Trade Zones, and familiarity with brokerage processes and government agency interactions.
- Background in working with transporters, terminals, forwarders, and carriers.
- Motivated to pursue a career in international logistics.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Authorization to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with 10-key usage.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills while maintaining focus and organization.
- Proactive mindset with strong organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills, capable of listening, understanding, and conveying information clearly.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
