Position Overview
This role functions as a Medical Supply Specialist within the Logistics Service of the Veterans Health Administration. The primary responsibility is to ensure that various hospital departments, including wards, clinics, and operating rooms, are adequately supplied with necessary medical materials.

Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Supply Specialist, your duties will encompass:

  • Managing inventory levels and ensuring timely delivery of sterile and non-sterile medical supplies.
  • Monitoring stock for expiration dates and implementing stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Utilizing computerized inventory management systems to track and manage supplies efficiently.
  • Communicating effectively with clinical and administrative staff regarding supply needs and concerns.
  • Conducting regular inventory checks and resolving discrepancies between recorded and actual stock levels.
  • Preparing specialty carts and ensuring all supplies are delivered in a sterile and operational condition.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas following established aseptic principles.

Work Schedule
This position offers various work schedules, including options for day and evening shifts. Please note that this role does not support telework or virtual arrangements.

Employment Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must be U.S. citizens and may be subject to a background investigation. Participation in health-related vaccination programs is mandatory for all personnel.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess specialized experience or education that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined above. Experience in supply management within a healthcare setting is preferred.
