The Plant Technician is a critical member of our operations team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our bioprocessing equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and operate all processes associated with the plant, including bioprocessing equipment and computerized systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on plant equipment, documenting all activities.
- Operate the Distributed Control System (DCS) for the plant, ensuring seamless process control.
- Safely perform basic electrical troubleshooting and follow procedures for plant start-up, shut-down, cleaning, and batching.
- Maintain accurate and timely logs, collect and test quality control samples, and interpret QA/QC results to optimize plant operations.
- Assist in removal, installation, rebuild, and performance of preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment associated with plant processes.
- Help maintain a clean and safe work environment by following sanitation schedules and completing assigned tasks.
- Notify management of safety, environmental, quality, and production concerns, problems, and opportunities.
- Maintain a team environment and champion POET's values and mission.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a production environment preferred.
- Working knowledge in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with software systems, such as Maximo, preferred.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to various physical and safety-sensitive conditions. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments.
