Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical staff in delivering exceptional healthcare services.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with practice providers and nursing staff to prepare patients for examinations, assist clinicians during medical procedures, and maintain examination rooms and equipment.
  • Additionally, you will perform various clerical and scheduling duties while interacting with patients.

Requirements:

  • You must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and a Medical Assistant program certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting, is required.
  • Secretarial or administrative experience with medical terminology is also necessary.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • Nationally accredited Medical Assistant Certification/Registration (RMA) or Vermont State LNA License is highly preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • You should be able to report patient care observations, deviations from patient plans, and other relevant information under direct supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Moderate knowledge of basic computer skills and medical terminology is required.
  • You must demonstrate an understanding of infection control principles.
  • Venipuncture skills are desirable.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $17.50 - $25.91 per hour, depending on location and experience.
