Our clientele, including architects, designers, contractors, and homeowners, depend on us for the largest variety of boulders, crushed stone, decomposed granite, flagstone, natural thin veneer, cobble, pebbles, outdoor stone fountains, and custom fabrication.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Technician to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and machinery, including trucks, forklifts, and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Review incoming service repair orders daily.
2. Examine fuel regulators, emission control systems, and timing systems to ensure optimal performance.
3. Conduct battery checks, lubricate components, and change oil to prevent engine failures.
4. Inspect hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and both mechanical and electrical parts.
5. Perform necessary repairs in compliance with DOT regulations.
6. Maintain accurate vehicle records by documenting services and repairs.
7. Follow operating instructions, troubleshoot breakdowns, and ensure shop equipment is functional.
8. Notify the Mechanic Supervisor regarding low inventory stock.
9. Escalate equipment repair issues to the Mechanic Supervisor as needed.
10. Conduct 90-day DOT inspections on vehicles.
11. Travel to various company sites across Southern California for repairs.
12. Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) as required.
13. Execute repairs on air-brakes.
14. Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Vocational training in Diesel Mechanics or relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in maintenance tools and repair equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
- Valid California Driver's license with air brake endorsement.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Familiarity with DOT inspections.
- Welding experience is a plus, with the ability to operate MIG, stick welder, and cutting torch.
- Basic computer skills are required.
