Medication Technician Role

We are seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to provide personalized care to our patients. This role involves assisting with the self-administration of medications, following state regulations and patient policies. You will be responsible for upholding patient rights, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the self-administration of medications, adhering to the 'six rights' of medication administration.
  • Accurately document patient information on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Maintain a well-organized medication cart and cabinet.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
  • Promptly report any adverse reactions or medication errors.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with rehabilitating adults with drug and/or alcohol addiction is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Friendly, caring disposition with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Required medication, First Aid, and CPR training.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to operate a 15-passenger van.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand/walk for up to six hours and lift/carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Frequently kneel, bend, and reach.
  • Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics.

Work Environment:

  • Subject to frequent interruptions and exposure to infectious diseases.
  • May need to work beyond regular hours, including weekends and emergencies.
  • Must handle residents' varying maturity levels with patience and tact.
