We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform waived and non-waived tests in an accurate and timely manner, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and regulations.
- Assist with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements.
- Process and prepare patient samples, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service and resolving communication issues.
- Participate in the resolution of communication issues and demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
- Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR.
- Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation) or other nationally recognized credentialing agency for review to determine eligibility and translated diploma.
- Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy in departments where applicable.
- MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB).
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing.
