The Director of Food Regulatory Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring the compliance of 1-800-FLOWERS, INC. products with federal and state government regulations. This position oversees all aspects of regulatory compliance, including product development, supplier management, and labeling requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee product development activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with FSMA standards and 1800 Flowers Food Defense Plans
- Develop and implement labeling strategies to ensure accurate and compliant labeling
- Monitor regulatory websites and subscriptions to stay up-to-date on changes that impact the business
- Collaborate with production, packaging, and internal teams to ensure compliance with new regulatory requirements
- Supervise and train Regulatory Specialists and staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in food regulatory compliance
- 3-5 years of experience in managing a team
- Knowledge of SQF PCQI FSMA and other food-related certifications
- Project management experience
- Effective communication and leadership skills
This position requires the ability to travel up to 30% of the time. The work environment is typically performed under comfortable working conditions, with minimal disagreeable elements.
