Job Overview

Position: Accounting Specialist
Location: Downtown Portland, OR - Fully Onsite
Employment Type: Part-Time (30 hours per week), Temp to Hire, Flexible hours
Salary: $32 - $35 per hour

The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of financial records, adhering to accounting standards, and supporting financial assessments. The successful candidate will possess a solid background in general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure precise financial documentation and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements, ensuring accurate entries in the general ledger.
  • Generate financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management review.
  • Prepare and submit tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax returns.
  • Foster vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in the property industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
