Job Summary

The Accounting Specialist is a key member of the Finance & Operations department, responsible for executing the accounts payable cycle across the firm and its funds. This role involves assisting in the preparation of corporate general ledger closes, including weekly bank reconciliations, recording general ledger entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.

The Accounting Specialist reports directly to the VP of Financial Operations and collaborates closely with the corporate and fund accounting teams, fund administrators, and the investment team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine accounts payable tasks for multiple entities, including receiving paperless invoices, bill review for appropriate documentation, bill entry in, approval initiation and follow up, and bill payment.
  2. Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to firm policies.
  3. Process bi-monthly (and at times, ad hoc) check runs and set up payments via, wires, checks, etc. for domestic and international vendors.
  4. Manage vendor files and request W-9's.
  5. Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
  6. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with firm policy and standard accounting practices.
  7. Compile and generate annual Form 1099's.
Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist with 1-3 years of general accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with general ledger functions and month/year-end financial close processes, as well as strong proficiency with Sage Intacct,, and/or other accounting software.

The successful candidate will possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage single and multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy in work.
