Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technology Instructor to join our team at Houston Community College (HCC). As a Surgical Technology Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the surgical technology program, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in this field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach surgical technology courses, including classroom and clinical instruction, to students at various levels of proficiency.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience.
  • Stay current with industry developments and advancements in surgical technology.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field or a bachelor's degree with significant experience in surgical technology.
  • Current certification as a surgical technologist (CST) or registered nurse (RN) with experience in operating room nursing.
  • 3+ years of experience in surgical technology, including teaching and clinical experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
