Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Technology Instructor to join our faculty team at Houston Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program, providing expert instruction and guidance to help students achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program, including introductory and advanced courses in manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans, using a range of teaching methods and technologies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning and progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of manufacturing engineering technology, incorporating best practices and industry trends into course instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to develop and implement program curricula and assessments.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support student success and faculty growth.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with significant industry experience and relevant certifications.
  • At least 3-10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a strong background in quality control, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple courses and responsibilities.
  • Ability to teach day or evening classes at multiple locations around the city.
