Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Surgical Technology Instructor to join our team at Houston Community College (HCC). As a Surgical Technology Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the surgical technology program, providing expert instruction and guidance to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor students in the surgical technology program, providing expert instruction and guidance to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this field.
  • Develop and implement curriculum and instructional materials that meet the needs of students and the program.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students and the program.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives and activities, including professional development and community service.
  • Collaborate with other faculty and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification as a surgical technologist (CST) or registered nurse (RN) in Texas.
  • 3 years of full-time experience in an operating room setting, with a wide range of operating room experience and clinical or classroom education skills.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with experience as clinical supervisors for students in a surgical technology program.
