Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and resourceful individual who excels in building relationships and solving problems to support public, parochial, juvenile justice agencies, and charter school districts in their pursuit of career and college readiness. As an integral member of Pearson's sales force, your primary focus will be on College and Career Readiness Learning Solutions within a designated territory. Your responsibilities will include prospecting, showcasing products, finalizing sales, and addressing customer concerns.

In collaboration with an Executive Account Manager, you will identify opportunities within large school districts. This role requires a robust understanding of our products, strong influencing capabilities, and strategic thought processes. You will utilize platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom to creatively respond to customer inquiries in real-time.

Compensation Details

At Pearson, compensation is determined by various factors including skill set, experience level, and geographical location. In compliance with applicable laws, the salary range for this position is:

Minimum full-time salary range is between $65,000 - $105,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and secure district sales opportunities to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets, while forwarding new opportunities as needed.
  • Align sales strategies with organizational objectives, providing customized solutions to meet the needs of prospects and clients.
  • Develop comprehensive product knowledge to address complex customer inquiries and deliver effective solutions.
  • Manage leads within your assigned territory, identifying the most suitable solutions for each prospect.
  • Renew and expand existing business while actively seeking new opportunities.
  • Utilize organizational tools, data, and marketing resources to enhance sales performance.
  • Oversee the complete sales process, including prospecting, proposal development, relationship management, and closing sales.
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge and provide expert insights, participating in RFP/RFQ efforts as assigned.

  • Meet or exceed sales targets while ensuring high customer retention through responsive service and effective partnerships.
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial agreements that address customer challenges and promote profitable transactions for Pearson.
  • Establish a strong reputation for proactive problem-solving, customer satisfaction, and business growth within Pearson.
  • Exhibit quick learning, multitasking, and prioritization skills, alongside strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven sales experience of 1+ years or 5+ years as a dedicated educator, achieving notable results.
  • A bachelor's degree is required; a background in education and experience in technology sales are advantageous.
  • Demonstrate effective time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills to address challenges effectively.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication, outstanding customer service, and strong relationship-building capabilities.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment, learning quickly, multitasking, prioritizing, and driving towards goals independently.
  • Possess deep knowledge of consultative selling, educational requirements, and funding dynamics.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with CRM systems is a plus.
