Heavy Duty Vehicle Maintenance Specialist

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing medium to heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks, trailers, refrigeration units, and convertor dollies. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair fleet diesel equipment to ensure compliance standards are met and associates' safety is ensured.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment and machinery.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure proper operating condition.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues using computerized diagnostics and electronic component repair techniques.
- Train and guide junior mechanics in their roles.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventative maintenance, tire and wheel repair, air and air disc brake diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or vocational/trade school diploma, 5-7 years of experience, preferred certifications in tire and wheel, brakes, AC, EPA, DOT inspections, transmissions, engines, and ASE Heavy Duty.
