Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic Specialist to join our team at Performance Foodservice. This role is ideal for individuals with 3-5 years of experience in diesel vehicle repair and a strong passion for delivering exceptional results.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance and maintaining thorough documentation through our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment and machinery
- Identifying and repairing issues with brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components
- Installing, replacing, and repairing onboard computers
- Training and guiding junior mechanics to develop their skills and knowledge
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, as well as 3-5 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair. Your expertise should include PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration.
