Job Title: Wastewater Treatment Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wastewater Treatment Engineer to join our team at Jacobs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions for wastewater treatment and process mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate treatment and process options to determine the best approaches to solve client challenges
  • Communicate complex problems and solutions with clients
  • Design and implement pilot scale treatment systems
  • Plan and design for full-scale treatment systems and treatment plant improvements for construction
  • Develop facility layouts and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Evaluate and select process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves
  • Analyze data and perform computer modeling
  • Write technical reports
  • Support bidding and permitting services
  • Support construction services
  • Inspect treatment/mechanical equipment in the field
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive process mechanical engineering and project delivery experience with water, wastewater and/or industrial treatment
  • Strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or related engineering discipline
  • 10 or more years of direct experience in municipal wastewater treatment or process mechanical for water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and conveyance systems
  • Wastewater process modeling skills (e.g. Sumo, Biowin)
  • Hydraulic modeling skills (e.g. Fathom, Pipe-Flo)
  • Construction or facility operations experience
  • Active in relevant professional organizations
  • Experience working and communicating directly with clients
