Job Title: Tobacco Treatment Specialist

Waikiki Health is seeking a highly skilled Tobacco Treatment Specialist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our integrated healthcare team, you will work closely with medical providers, behavioral health providers, and other healthcare professionals to offer comprehensive, patient-centered tobacco treatment services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive tobacco and nicotine counseling services, including education and nicotine replacement therapies.
  • Maintain a minimum caseload of 40 patients, providing personalized support and treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with medical providers and other healthcare specialists in the identification and referral of high-risk populations to tobacco treatment.
  • Document patient encounters and treatment data in our electronic health record (AthenaNet) and Tobacco Database within 2 days of each encounter.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss goals and program benchmarks.
  • Assist with grant reporting and participate in local and national tobacco cessation initiatives.
  • Represent Waikiki Health at functions and meetings related to tobacco cessation.
  • Develop and implement specialized recovery support services, such as education and treatment groups.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field with counseling experience required.
  • Experience with counseling substance abuse and/or mental health populations preferred.
  • Master's degree in either counseling or clinical psychology preferred.
  • Must possess or obtain certification as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist from a nationally recognized institution upon hire.
  • Computer skills required with EHR and Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Sensitivity and adaptability to the diverse cultural backgrounds of our patients.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed records.
