Job Title: Tobacco Treatment Specialist

Job Summary:

The Tobacco Treatment Specialist is a key member of our team at Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center, responsible for providing intensive, evidence-based tobacco treatment services to adult smokers from priority populations. Our goal is to help individuals quit smoking and improve their overall health and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized tobacco cessation interventions to clients, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
  • Offer Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and other approved pharmacotherapy to support clients in their quit journey.
  • Collaborate with the Hawaii Tobacco Quitline to provide comprehensive cessation services.
  • Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for clients and community groups on tobacco cessation and health promotion.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) or qualified to be CTTS-certified.
  • Valid Hawaii Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (recommended).
  • TB Clearance and Hep B Clearance/Vaccination.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

The Tobacco Treatment Specialist will work in an office environment with frequent presentations and meetings with clients in the field. The position requires reliable transportation and the ability to drive to various facilities and locations.
