Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
The Returns Specialist will manage the receipt of products and materials from external suppliers.

This role includes unpacking and organizing merchandise for appropriate departmental routing, as well as documenting any damaged items or discrepancies in quantities.


Essential Duties
- Maintain accurate records of incoming shipments and verify bills of lading or purchase orders.
- Endorse and confirm shipment accuracy against purchase orders, making necessary adjustments for discrepancies (e.g., overages, shortages, damaged goods).
- Inspect incoming products for quality, freshness, and compliance with size and expiration standards.
- Unload delivery trucks and organize pallets for storage.
- Prepare special orders for stores and stock products as required.
- Manage the check-in process for returned products from stores.
- Ensure proper rotation of products by confirming expiration dates.
- Open master cases for repacking as needed.
- Flexibility to assist in other areas as required.
- Load trucks for delivery to the main warehouse dock.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Adhere to attendance and safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a warehouse setting.
- Experience operating a pallet jack is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers) is preferred, though training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills with internal customers and management.
- Ability to follow safety protocols as instructed.
- Capability to work independently without direct supervision.

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The role requires sitting, standing, walking, and climbing.

While performing the duties of this position, employees may work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise levels are typically low to moderate.
