About the Role

We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team at YAI, a leading organization providing innovative services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting individuals with I/DD, promoting their independence, and enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care services, including counseling, training in daily living skills, and assistance with personal care, medical, and social needs.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellness of the individuals we support.
  • Support with intimate care functions and build positive relationships.
  • Participate in the development of treatment plans and crisis intervention.
  • Complete mandatory trainings and apply skills to support individuals with I/DD.
  • Meet and demonstrate OPWDD Core Competencies.
  • Assist individuals in maximizing their strengths, interests, and abilities through teaching, self-advocacy, and emotional support.
  • Facilitate community integration, recreational activities, and socialization.
  • Complete documentation to ensure compliance and billing.
  • Train and present to teams as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Work or life experience in the I/DD field is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Valid NY State Driver's License may be required depending on the position.
  • Tuberculosis test is mandatory for most positions.
