Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Expanded Learning Literacy Instructor to lead a gender-specific curriculum for girls in kindergarten through third grade as part of our East Bay Expanded Learning Programs.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with afterschool site coordinators and school district personnel to deliver high-quality academic, enrichment, and recreational services to students during the after-school hours, five days a week throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain a safe and emotionally supportive environment for students
  • Create, plan, and execute lesson plans that support school-day learning
  • Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development
  • Model Bay Area Community Resources' Best Practices

Requirements:

  • Classroom experience a plus
  • Available Monday through Friday, 23 hours per week, afternoons until 6 pm
  • Ability to reliably commute to Richmond
  • Commitment to social justice and leadership
  • Passionate about learning and youth development: K-12
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
