University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) CVOR for a nursing job in Miami, Florida.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) CVOR at the University of Miami, you will be responsible for assessing assigned patients and evaluating plans to include documentation of nursing care. You will report symptoms and changes in patients' condition and vital signs, and modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses, conditions and physician orders. You will review, evaluate and report diagnostic tests to assess patient's condition, and consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. You will prepare patients for, and assist with examinations, procedures and treatments, considering patient age and culture during patient treatments and providing any needed information regarding treatment plan. You will nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support, perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within the scope of practice, and administer and maintain accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures and physician orders. You will communicate plan of care in a timely manner to patient and family, as well as the appropriate team members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines (i.e. HIPAA). You will use best practices for transition of patient care, use available resources to assist in discharge planning, and plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and render superior patient care; seek assistance when needed. You will adapt to changing work demands and environment, safely operate medical equipment, serve as a preceptor and assist new staff in the provision of care in order to help them acclimate to the healthcare environment, and a direct patient care role, and provide concise and constructive feedback when needed. You will adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in nursing required
  • Certification and Licensing: Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
