We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Jackson Healthcare Government Services. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, performing various medical procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including physical exams, medical histories, and laboratory results.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and implementation of best practices.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state in which the duty station is located.
- Minimum one year of professional experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting.
- Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English (verbal and written) in order to develop positive rapport with patients, co-workers, and other stakeholders.
- Certified Correctional Health Professional, Certified Correctional Health Professional - Registered Nurse, or Certified Corrections Nurse credential.
- Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish (preferred, not required).
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The Registered Nurse must be able to respond to medical emergencies and adapt to sudden changes in schedules and work requirements.
Security Requirements:The Department of Homeland Security's Personnel Security Unit (PSU) must render an Initial Preliminary Favorable Fitness Determination to be considered a qualified candidate. A Complete Favorable Fitness Determination must be rendered by PSU upon completion of initial, and between, subsequent background investigations to meet the requirements of this position.
Physical Demands:The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, or jogging unaided over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces. The Registered Nurse must be able to respond to any medical emergency in the facility, via foot, within four minutes and perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
