Role and Responsibilities
As a Full-Time Lead Teacher, you will have the autonomy to create a vibrant classroom atmosphere while receiving the necessary tools and support to thrive. Your primary responsibility will be to address the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of a group of young learners.
- Design and lead activities that encourage physical, mental, and social development, including games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and excursions.
- Set clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and effectively communicate these goals to children.
- Engage with children in a respectful, courteous, and patient manner.
- Monitor and assess children's performance, behavior, social growth, and physical well-being.
- Establish and uphold rules for behavior and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Organize indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play and motor-skill activities.
- Adjust teaching methods and materials to accommodate the diverse needs and interests of students.
- Attend to children's basic needs, such as feeding, dressing, and hygiene, as appropriate for their age.
- Instruct children on healthy eating habits and personal care.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, address their needs, and suggest strategies to enhance learning and development.
Work Environment
This position operates within a childcare setting, involving daily interaction with children in early learning classrooms.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands outlined here represent what an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is frequently required to sit, and occasionally must climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Schedule
This is a full-time role, typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with hours from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Extended hours may be necessary to ensure adequate staffing during operational hours.
Travel
Occasional local travel may be required for training and professional development activities.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet minimum education and experience requirements as outlined by relevant authorities.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Fulfill minimum age, education, background check, and health qualifications for caregivers as mandated by licensing authorities.
- Complete annual training as required by licensing standards.
- Maintain certifications in Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.
- If transporting children, possess a Class C driver license with a clean driving record and complete two hours of transportation training annually.
Compensation
Starting salary is $15.00 per hour.
