Department Overview
The Parking and Transportation department is responsible for implementing the university's parking strategy, overseeing vehicle registration, permit issuance, lot enforcement, fine collection, citation appeals, event scheduling, and guest parking permits.
We also facilitate campus shuttle services and bus charters for student organizations and university departments.
Position Summary
The Director of Parking Services is responsible for overseeing all facets of parking operations across Augusta-based campus lots, managing a total of 11,000 parking spaces, which includes permitting, enforcement, operational management, and event coordination.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties:
Operations
Provide strategic direction and comprehensive management of all university parking operations, including permitting, enforcement, lot management, and event coordination.
Ensure fiscal accountability and timely financial reporting within the department.
Maintain operations that are financially self-sustaining and effectively managed.
Oversee departmental policies and procedures, coordinating changes with division leadership.
Systems
Manage the parking permit system [AIMS], parking access control system [iPARC], and the mobile application for visitor parking [ParkMobile].
Verify financial data using PeopleSoft, BANNER, and other university system tools.
Fiscal
Coordinate and validate revenue collection from student permits, employee payroll deductions, citations, and contract vendor payments.
Oversee billing processes for permits, rentals, and event management.
Manage all administrative tasks, including annual inventory, budget preparation, and reporting.
Personnel
Lead and supervise the parking operations team, focusing on recruitment, training, certification, and performance evaluation.
Address customer service issues related to parking operations.
Assist staff with parking appeals (ADA requests, citation disputes, lot assignments, etc.) and coordinate with the Chief Auxiliary Officer as necessary.
Participate in the Parking Operations committee, the Campus Safety committee, and other assigned teams.
Coordinate parking information with campus leadership and relevant departments, including admissions, athletics, patient services, public safety, and student affairs.
Maintain a schedule for announcements to students and staff regarding permitting, policies, lot availability, and safety. Collaborate with the Division of Communication and Marketing for campus-wide communications.
As Assigned
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Auxiliary Officer and/or university leadership.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of five years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
Experience with parking management and access control systems.
Required Experience
Supervisory experience is essential; familiarity with parking permitting, enforcement, operations, or related logistics is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Experience in large university or medical center parking operations; familiarity with AIMS Parking Management and/or IPARC Parking Access software; experience with financial accounting and payroll systems; prior experience in customer service or retail; event management experience is advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of university policies and procedures; knowledge of point-of-sale operations;
SKILLS
Demonstrated customer service capabilities; sound fiscal decision-making skills.

Pay Band: 11
Salary:
Minimum $56,600.00/Annually - $60,000.00/Annually
Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
