Compliance Officer: PT

Buffalo Run Casino & Resort is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer: PT to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our casino operates within all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble and maintain an accurate and current library of Federal, State, and Tribal regulatory requirements for Indian Gaming.
- Serve as a gaming operation liaison for compliance audits and official visits from regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate discussions with gaming operation managers, and supervisors to convey compliance standards and offer solutions where improvement is needed.
- Analyze regulatory requirements and present opinions to management regarding the application and enforcement of compliance standards.
- Formulate and recommend audit plans, including scope, techniques, and timelines within the constraints of the audit.
- Performs audits of all gaming areas of the casino operations.
- Collects and analyzes data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with gaming regulations, laws, internal controls, or policies. Prepare detailed reports of all audits and deliver to the CEO/Assistant General Manager with recommendations for change.
- Performs follow-up observations and examinations to verify corrective action.
- Reviews and recommends changes to internal control policies and practices.
- Monitor tort and prize claims as required by Compact regulatory requirements.
- Author gaming operation directives and coordinate the related management program. Conduct training for gaming operations employees.
- Obtain and maintain gaming license. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree preferred.
- At least 2 years previous auditing and / or regulatory compliance experience or combination of experience and equivalent education required.
- Requires prior experience writing policies. Must be at least 18.
- Shift: Mon - Thurs (9am - 4pm).
- Requires problem solving skills, advanced written communication skills, advanced computer skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
- Requires knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations and requirements governing casino internal controls.
- Position involves prolonged sitting, stooping or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis.
- Work is performed in an office or casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
