Position Overview:

The Clinical Engineering Specialist is responsible for delivering technical support and routine maintenance on advanced biomedical devices and systems, including but not limited to life support apparatus, anesthesia machines, and surgical robotics. This role encompasses both regular working hours and on-call duties as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address unscheduled service inquiries from users by conducting initial diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolving issues. (35%)
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks in alignment with the PM Inspection and Protocol management strategy, ensuring proper documentation post-repair or maintenance. (35%)
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, or self-guided learning to enhance knowledge on specialized equipment and systems. (5%)
  • Assist in the installation of specialized systems as required. (10%)
  • Collaborate with other technical roles within Clinical Engineering/Medical Physics and various hospital departments as needed. (5%)
  • Act as a subject matter expert, interfacing with users, management, and administration regarding specialized biomedical equipment and systems. (10%)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of an electronic technical program.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supporting general biomedical equipment.
  • 4 years of experience with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or hospital settings involving high-end devices and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in biomedical or electronic engineering.
