Position Overview

We are looking for an Animal Care Specialist I to join our Insourcing Solutions team.

In this role, you will conduct daily health assessments of research animals and perform essential husbandry tasks, including checking water supplies and cages, providing nourishment, and executing cage changes or cleaning to ensure the well-being of the animals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise records related to animal breeding and housing, and assist with the reception, inspection, and accommodation of incoming animals.
  • Support the handling, restraint, and manipulation of various animal species, and may participate in breeding and weaning processes.
  • Other tasks may involve monitoring access to specific areas, operating necessary equipment, and performing general housekeeping duties as needed.

Qualifications:

The following are the minimum qualifications for the Animal Care Specialist position:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma accompanied by one year of experience in animal care or handling is required. A keen interest in obtaining ALAT certification when eligible is preferred.

Compensation:

The hourly pay for this position is $19.32. Please note that salaries may vary within this range based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
