Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the unit's director or designated representative, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for overseeing all unit functions during assigned shifts. This role includes ongoing evaluation of the quality of patient care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate all unit functions during designated shifts.
  • Serve as a resource for nursing staff and assist in their education.
  • Ensure the quality of nursing care provided during shifts.
  • Make informed decisions regarding unit activities in collaboration with management.
  • Support the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora by addressing the holistic needs of patients.

The CNC will oversee nursing care for patients requiring telemetry and medical-surgical care, acting as the primary nurse and care coordinator, ensuring well-coordinated patient care.

Qualifications:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license in Colorado or a multistate RN license.
  • BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross; ACLS preferred.

Experience:

  • Two years of clinical experience in the relevant specialty preferred.
  • Six months of leadership or management experience required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to provide safe patient care.
  • Effective communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and clinical competency.
