Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students and staff, promoting diversity and acceptance within the campus community.
  • Directly oversee custodial staff, ensuring that all areas, including offices, classrooms, and laboratories, are kept clean and sanitary.
  • Build a cohesive team by training staff on proper cleaning techniques and equipment usage, while regularly assessing their performance against established benchmarks.
  • Adjust work schedules and manage workloads to accommodate both planned and unplanned absences, as well as special cleaning projects.
  • Provide consistent leadership by stepping in for other custodial leads when necessary.
  • Manage timekeeping processes, approve leave requests, and cover for absent custodians as required.
  • Conduct inspections of custodial work to ensure compliance with quality standards, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure custodial staff have access to necessary supplies and equipment, managing inventory and procurement effectively.
  • Complete work orders promptly and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the success of the department by performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Essential skills include supervisory capabilities, management planning, strong communication skills, and the ability to train new hires. A commitment to engaging with diverse cultures and backgrounds is also required.
  • Participate in the hiring process to select qualified candidates.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records regarding custodial staff, including timekeeping and attendance.
  • Ability to assess facility cleanliness, which may involve physical activities such as climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must possess the physical capability to operate various cleaning equipment and perform tasks both indoors and outdoors.
