Nursing Director for Skilled Nursing Facility

Trellis Centennial is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in post-acute and long-term geriatric nursing care, with experience in supervision and leadership. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents, while also overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department. Key responsibilities include setting and tracking departmental goals, developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, supervising and training nursing staff, and collaborating with doctors and executives. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. **Responsibilities:**

* Lead daily operations for the nursing department
* Set and track departmental goals and objectives
* Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
* Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing staff
* Hire and onboard new nurses
* Set the nursing schedule
* Provide direct patient care when necessary
* Investigate patient complaints
* Collaborate with doctors and executives
* Oversee the department's budget
* Maintain a stocked inventory
* Design and manage continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Ensure that all guidelines, regulations, and standards are followed

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

* RN with required state licensure
* Ability to organize workflow, respond to emergencies, and note detail
* Ability to comply with the Patient Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
* Ability to comply with Company and departmental safety policies and procedures
* Ability to read and write the English language
* Experience in post-acute and/or long-term geriatric nursing care
* Experience in supervision
* Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
* Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
* Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training

**Physical Capacities:**

* Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
* Must be able to endure bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching
* Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
* Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility
* Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position

**Environmental Conditions:**

* Inside work, normal temperatures, some noise, occasional fumes/odors, chemical exposure, and potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens
