Job Overview

Position Summary:
This role is dedicated to effectively communicating our organization’s mission and services to the community, partners, members, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include attending community gatherings, delivering public presentations, coordinating training sessions, and developing promotional materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategic initiatives set forth by the leadership team, including project management, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Provide public information about agency activities and serve as a liaison with local media and stakeholders to enhance community visibility.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts through social media channels and the company website.
  • Manage donor databases and create correspondence for donor relations.
  • Engage with a diverse range of individuals and organizations, including executive staff, board members, funders, and community members.
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread various forms of correspondence, including emails, letters, meeting minutes, press releases, and newsletters.
  • Maintain organized files and ensure timely responses to all correspondence and administrative documents.
  • Communicate professionally in both verbal and written formats with staff, public, stakeholders, and members.
  • Conduct research and compile reports on various topics, including monthly updates for leadership.
  • Coordinate meeting and travel arrangements as needed.
  • Participate in committees and meetings as required.
  • Engage in targeted educational and professional development opportunities to enhance expertise.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements for processes to boost organizational effectiveness and public image.
  • Represent the agency with professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct outreach to agencies and stakeholders, delivering presentations both in-person and online.
  • Create marketing materials, including pamphlets, brochures, presentations, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Collaborate with web developers to update the agency's website.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with two years of experience in community engagement.
  • Associate's degree with three years of community engagement experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with four years of community engagement experience.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and adaptability to various situations and personalities.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and sensitivity.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of cultural competence principles.
  • Ability to remain composed in crisis situations and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and empathy towards individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Professional conduct aligned with ethical practices and agency policies.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
  • Proof of physical examination and annual TB skin test.
  • Fingerprint clearance may be required for roles involving children.
