Key Responsibilities- Set up barricades and safety lights around work sites to protect workers from street traffic.
- Break up asphalt and concrete using pneumatic power tools for trenching and compaction.
- Manually dig up valve boxes and curb boxes using shovels and digging bars.
- Guide pipe sections, valves, and fittings into position and hold pieces steady while tightening connections.
- Tap into pressurized water mains, flare, and connect copper piping.
- Install repair clamps on pressurized water mains and service lines.
- Operate valves and fire hydrants, investigate complaints, and determine corrective action per Company procedure.
- Operate pneumatic and/or hydraulic boring equipment, complete necessary forms, sketches, and field notes, and be knowledgeable of usage of maps and records.
- Drive vehicles and/or trucks in performance of general job, including housekeeping of vehicles.
- High School diploma or state-recognized Educational Equivalency Certificate.
- College degree desirable.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to pass motor vehicle background check.
