Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Education Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the daily operations of our LEAP and/or ECE site, ensuring the well-being and education of preschool and school-age children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in organizing and leading games and activities for groups of children, promoting social and cognitive development.
  • Support students with craft projects, computer skills learning, and other activities, fostering a love for learning.
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of meals and snacks, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Attend staff meetings and developmental training programs, staying up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Maintain a minimum of 18 hours of training per year, ensuring ongoing professional growth.
  • Assist with planning and implementing activities for the academic, social, and cognitive enrichment of students of all ages and skill levels.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment, promoting a sense of community.
  • Attend continuing educational programs as required, staying current on industry developments.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 months related experience or education working with preschool and/or school-age children preferred
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current DPS Clearance/DHS Clearance
  • Current TB Test and vaccinations as required by DHS upon hire
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that meets minimum requirements
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include reaching, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and bending. The employee may be required to move up to 40 pounds. The work environment is an indoor classroom setting, with occasional outdoor activities in various weather conditions.
