The Town of Marana, AZ is seeking a highly skilled License and Tax Specialist to join our Finance Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining business licenses, providing assistance with tax code compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain business licenses by accepting and reviewing applications, data entry, routing invoices, filing, and verifying/accepting payment of fees and/or taxes.
  • Provide assistance to accountants with tax code compliance.
  • Assist in customer service, including acceptance of payments, reconciling cash drawers, and assisting customers in person/over the phone.
  • Maintain records, including filing, rotating of invoices, cash receipts, and following the retention schedule.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training.
  • Over one year of experience as an accounting clerk, licensing clerk, or in a closely related field.
  • Ability to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with word processing, Excel, and other computer software applications.
  • Experience in accounting or with sales tax.
  • Experience with business licenses.
  • Experience with Access.
  • Customer service and administrative work experience.
