Patient Access Services ER Specialist

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and making a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry? We're seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Services ER Specialist to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional patient care and registration services in the Emergency Room and Urgent Care settings.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  • Initiate preliminary financial counseling and screening to identify non-funded and/or under-funded patients.
  • Employ compliant patient liability collection techniques and perform cash reconciliation and secured payment entry.
  • Clearly document actions taken in account notes and track productivity/quality reports.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a hospital or clinical environment, with working knowledge of patient access, financial counseling, and customer service functions.
  • Ability to work multiple computer systems, including patient registration/accounting systems, document imaging, and scanning.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance terminology, with certification/registration/licensure in CHAA, CPAT, or CRCR preferred.
