- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
- Staff Management: Lead and develop a team of Environmental Services staff, including interviewing, selecting, and evaluating employees, as well as providing training and development opportunities.
- Operational Management: Develop and manage budgets, control expenditures, and ensure efficient use of resources to achieve departmental goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, laws, and policies related to infection prevention, patient safety, and environmental services.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: Typically requires 5 years of experience in environmental services, with a strong background in management and leadership.
- Licensure and Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 6 months of hire.
- Physical Abilities: Physically able to walk for up to 35% of each workday, sit, walk, lift, squat, and bend.
- Environmental Factors: May be exposed to dust and dirt, chemical and radiation hazards, and blood or bodily fluids requiring appropriate clothing to be worn.
