Job Overview

Strata Clean Energy is a leading player in the renewable energy sector, boasting a 950 MW portfolio of solar and battery storage assets. We are expanding rapidly, and this role is crucial in supporting our growth. The Capital Markets Finance Specialist will be integral in executing project and corporate finance transactions, including tax equity, debt, and M&A activities. This position offers significant growth opportunities in a dynamic industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for solar and storage projects, supporting various financing structures such as construction loans, tax equity, back-leverage, and holdco financings.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of data rooms for M&A and financing transactions, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence on potential acquisitions, including financial, legal, and operational aspects, and compile findings into comprehensive reports for senior management.
  • Coordinate with third-party consultants, legal teams, and technical advisors to gather and analyze data required for project finance and M&A transactions.
  • Support the preparation of transaction documentation, including term sheets, financing agreements, and investor presentations.
  • Monitor and track key transaction milestones, ensuring that all due diligence activities are completed within established timelines.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities related to project finance and M&A activities.
  • Prepare internal reports and presentations summarizing diligence findings, financial analyses, and transaction progress for review by senior team members.
  • Assist in post-transaction integration activities, ensuring a smooth transition of assets or companies into the existing portfolio.
  • Support the development team with pricing models and underwriting of assets when contracting with off-take agreements, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a finance-related role, with a focus on financial modeling or analysis; internships or relevant coursework can also be considered.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, with a basic understanding of financial modeling; familiarity with VBA macros is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for the entire duration of a workday.
  • Ability to wear full complement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when visiting solar sites is required.
