Position Overview:

As a Staff Accountant at DigitalPath, you will play a vital role within our finance team, working autonomously while also offering support during peak periods and staff absences. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong project management skills, and experience in financial analysis, reporting, and data management. Your daily tasks will be largely self-directed, with guidance from management for larger initiatives and escalations. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and may serve as a peer leader within the department, with opportunities for advancement into leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage your own time and assist in prioritizing the team's workload to meet deadlines.
  • Mentor and develop team members to enhance their professional skills.
  • Communicate expectations and feedback clearly to team members.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage assigned general ledgers, journal entries, and the closing of monthly and yearly cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies in all accounting practices.
  • Act as a backup for payroll tasks, including reviewing payroll before processing.
  • Provide assistance with accounts payable processes, including monthly reviews and reconciliations.
  • Lead project management efforts within the accounting department, including audit responses and data reviews.
  • Coordinate the annual submission of 1099 forms.
  • Update ledgers and financial reports as assigned.
  • Research and analyze data for complex financial inquiries and present findings to management.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for auditing and reconciling financial records.
  • Identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Office 365, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of financial reports, GAAP, and managerial accounting concepts.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards in all professional interactions.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in data entry and organization.
  • Self-motivated to deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster effective working relationships.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site during operational hours.
