Senior Tax Accountant Job Description

Ampcus is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will play a major role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage all aspects of tax compliance for Federal, State, and Local income taxes.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end tax provisions, including true-ups for provision to return.
  • Manage sales and use tax compliance, including proficiency in Vertex Software.
  • Prepare commodity tax returns for the Canadian company.
  • Responsible for personal property and real estate tax payments, inventory values, and appraised values.
  • Manage tax calendars to ensure timely filing of all tax returns and payments.
  • Administer and manage tax correspondence with taxing authorities.
  • Assist business units with taxability of purchases and sales invoices.
  • Track intercompany transactions for Transfer Pricing Study preparation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, MS in Tax or CPA preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in tax.
  • Working knowledge of tax provision, Federal and State Income taxes, Sales and Use tax Compliance.
  • Proficient in Excel and Vertex Software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Vertex Sales Tax software and OneSource products.
