POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Project Coordinator (Senior PM) - Structural is a seasoned professional responsible for securing and executing significant projects for both existing and prospective clients. The Lead PM will spearhead the business development initiatives and will have substantial annual sales or revenue generation goals. By effectively planning, executing, and delivering intricate projects for key clients, the Lead PM ensures customer satisfaction while optimizing internal resources to meet project scope, fees, and timelines, thereby achieving the desired profit margins. The Lead PM typically serves as the Client Service Manager for strategically vital clients and plays a pivotal role in shaping the overall direction of their region or area of expertise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Management:

  • Acts as the Client Service Manager for one or more key clients.
  • Engages with senior-level client stakeholders, including local, state, and national decision-makers. The Lead PM consistently embodies the qualities of a Trusted Advisor by offering expertise and value that extends beyond the technical aspects of project deliverables.
  • Proactively identifies client needs and meets the expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Suggests additional business solutions to address current and future client requirements.
Business Development:
  • Conducts market assessments and collaborates with the Practice Leader or Regional Director to develop and implement national or regional market strategies.
  • Leads the project pursuit process and serves as the Pursuit Lead for significant revenue-generating projects.
  • Oversees the proposal development and interview preparation phases to ensure the organization is well-positioned to secure key projects. Coordinates proposal/pursuit information with business line and marketing teams.
  • Aims to meet or exceed region-specific sales targets by leveraging existing client relationships and employing targeted marketing strategies to identify and acquire new clients.
  • Generally responsible for generating meaningful revenue streams for the organization.
Project Management:
  • Manages or advises on highly specialized, complex, and strategic projects. Projects handled are of such complexity that the Lead PM will collaborate with task leaders to ensure effective coordination and execution.
  • Anticipates project challenges and adeptly navigates complex client, political, or technical issues to mitigate impacts on project delivery.
  • Leads the development of project scope, fees, and contracts to ensure clarity of deliverables with client personnel.
  • Constructs and manages the Project Plan, detailing phases, tasks, timelines, contingencies, and critical paths. Ensures the plan is updated to facilitate company-wide workload planning.
  • Oversees technical direction and resource management to meet or exceed budget and schedule expectations.
  • Conducts kickoff and regular project meetings to discuss schedules, project plans, and client expectations, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Initiates changes in scope, addendums, and change orders as necessary to ensure financial performance of managed projects.
  • Supervises and reviews the work of junior staff, ensuring adherence to the firm's quality control and assurance processes.
  • May contribute individually to the technical aspects of the project under management.
Team Leadership:
  • Identifies necessary time and resources for project delivery and assembles an effective team.
  • Manages projects by assigning tasks and closely monitoring progress against budget and timelines, holding team members accountable for achieving project goals.
  • Facilitates Project Team Meetings and distributes minutes to team members and clients as appropriate.
  • Addresses conflicts promptly and appropriately, utilizing interpersonal skills to resolve issues among team members.
Project Financials:
  • Provides budgetary guidance and oversight to Project Managers.
  • Develops and analyzes financial reports.
  • Monitors and resolves issues such as scope creep, cost overruns, change orders, and delays.
  • Ensures clients are billed according to the contractual schedule.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a related engineering discipline.
  • Professionally registered (P.E.) in the state where HR Green operates.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager.
