Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily routines, personal care, and social activities, as well as advocating for their needs and goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily routines for clients, ensuring their needs are met and goals are achieved.
  • Provide personal care assistance, including grooming, bathroom needs, and changing clients' undergarments and clothing if needed.
  • Assist clients with daily meals and clean-up.
  • Transport clients to appointments, activities, and social events.
  • Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving, preferably supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a California Driver's License.
  • Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
