Job Title: Direct Support Professional II

At Redwood Family Care Network, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional II to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional II, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional II will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to advocacy, empowerment, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily routines for clients, ensuring their needs and goals are met.
  • Support clients in achieving their Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist clients with personal care, including grooming, bathroom needs, and changing undergarments or clothing as needed.
  • Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up, promoting healthy eating habits and hygiene practices.
  • Transport clients to appointments, activities, and social events, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Report incidents or problems to administrators, maintaining open communication and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the overall mission and goals of Redwood Family Care Network.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving, preferably supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid California Driver's License.
  • Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
