Job Description

Care to Stay Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to our senior clients in their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Hygiene and Grooming: Assist with bathing, dressing, and oral care to ensure our clients maintain their personal hygiene and dignity.
  • Mobility Support: Provide assistance with transferring, walking, and using mobility aids to ensure our clients' safety and independence.
  • Medication Reminders: Ensure that medications are taken on schedule and as prescribed, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Meal Preparation and Assistance: Plan and prepare nutritious meals, and assist with eating if necessary, to ensure our clients receive adequate nutrition.
  • Household Chores: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Companionship and Social Interaction: Provide emotional support and engage in activities to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, such as conversation, games, or hobbies.
  • Errands and Transportation: Assist with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and providing transportation to appointments, as needed.
  • Health Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and report changes in our clients' physical or mental health to family members or healthcare providers, as necessary.
  • Safety Supervision: Ensure a safe living environment by addressing potential hazards and monitoring for any signs of distress or emergencies.
  • Assistance with Daily Activities: Help with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, feeding, and managing incontinence, to maintain our clients' dignity and independence.
  • Record Keeping and Communication: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including notes on our clients' condition and any changes observed, and serve as a liaison between our clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Minimum of Two Years of Caregiving Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in caregiving, preferably with senior clients, is required.
  • Home Care Aide or CNA/NAC Certification: A Home Care Aide or CNA/NAC certification is required, and we offer the 75-hour HCA training to our employees at no cost.
  • Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for errands and transportation duties.
  • Commitment to Providing High-Quality Care: A commitment to providing high-quality care and support to our senior clients is essential.
  • Ability to Pass a Background Check: The ability to pass a criminal background and driving record check with no felonies is required.
