Join our team as a 1st Shift Flexible Packaging Production Specialist. The standard work schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $30 based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate all production lines efficiently within the department.
- Monitor and maintain product quality, including width, gauge, treatment, clarity, and roll appearance for all running machines.
- Inspect operating conditions of all machinery to ensure quality, production efficiency, and safe equipment operation.
- Assist with or execute screen and die changes as necessary.
- Adhere to all product quality, safety, and production standards.
- Maximize output of all extruders while ensuring safe equipment operation.
- Provide training and leadership to production assistants.
- Complete shift reports, production forms, and document process conditions, production pounds, and waste accurately.
- Follow AIB guidelines diligently.
- Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor promptly.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, following prescribed safety protocols.
- Engage in continuous improvement and focus enhancement processes.
- Understand and execute detailed written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of production lines or related equipment.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations relevant to production figures.
- Proficient in weighing and measuring using both imperial and metric systems.
- A minimum of two years of experience working on extrusion or lamination lines.
- Familiarity with various polyethylene resins and their behavior under different processing conditions.
- This role requires physical coordination, proper lifting techniques, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, with hoisting equipment available.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, and stooping may be required.
- Must be able to use measuring tools accurately.
- Exposure to a loud working environment is typical.
- Regular work near moving mechanical parts and potential exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
- Recognize and manage hazards associated with mobile equipment, powered hand tools, and other machinery.
